SANCTION
In 2013 she was suspended for two years by the Indian Anti Doping Agency after returning an adverse analytical finding for the banned substances 19-norandrosterone and metabolite of nandrolone during an U14 tournament. TOUGH DECISION
In 2022 she was diagnosed with knee plica syndrome which meant she had to undergo surgery to prevent further injury. The same day she had to make the decision for the operation she received a letter with the invitation to compete at the 2022 World Championships in Eugene, OR, United States of America. She chose to undergo the surgery. "It was very tough. I was in two minds. Should I go for the world championships or should I do the surgery. But doctors said, in my condition I should not take the risk and rehab was not enough. It was so painful even while standing, walking and running. It was an injury on my knee-cap and it was very rare to detect. I had to go through multiple MRI scans until finally the condition was diagnosed." (Hindustan Times, 18 Jun 2023)
