He suffered from allergies as a child so his father, who was also a badminton coach, introduced him to the sport. "I started because my father also plays badminton. That is why I wanted to be a badminton player too. If the weather was cold, like in an air-conditioned environment, and I stepped out into warm weather, my nose could not handle it. I used to go to hospital once or twice a week. As I started playing more, the number of hospital trips reduced. I soon started enjoying the sport and here I am." CAREER CHOICE
After completing the third grade of high school, he decided to leave his studies in order to focus on badminton. "At first I was a bit lonely, but it was only for a while and I got used to it. I saw leaving school as a necessity. Otherwise, there would be no time for me to rest. My performance fell on both of them, studying and badminton. I think I made the right decision. After practising [full-time] every day, my body became stronger and my skills got better. I defeated more opponents." (mainstand.co.th, 31 Dec 2019)
EARLY DAYS
He was inspired to join Banthongyord Badminton School in Bangkok, Thailand, after watching Ratchanok Intanon from the school claim victory in women's singles at the 2013 World Championships in Guangzhou, People's Republic of China. "I decided to train at Banthongyord because I saw her standing on the podium when I was only 12. It's not just about teaching badminton [at Banthongyord]. There are also physical therapists, sports scientists, fitness people who can help develop our potential. I thought from the beginning that if I came here, I would definitely be able to upgrade myself." (olympics.com, 14 Mar 2022; mainstand.co.th, 31 Dec 2019; BWF TV YouTube channel, 29 Nov 2017)
