Team Overview
General
Indonesia competed at the Asian Games for the first time in 2018. As hosts of the tournament, they beat India but lost their other three matches during the group stage. In the classification rounds they lost to Kazakhstan and then won against Mongolia to place seventh overall.
The Indonesian team won gold at the 2023 South East Asian Games in Cambodia, which was their first title at the tournament, after winning all six of their round-robin games. Their record included an 89-68 victory over defending champions, the Philippines. They had won silver at the 2021 Games [which took place in 2022] after finishing as bronze medallists in both 2017 and 2019.
Indonesia have taken part in the Asia Cup [formerly known as the Asia championship] since 1970, although the majority of their appearances have come in the B Division in recent years.
