Additional Information
General
WEIGHT CLASS CHANGE
In 2019 she moved up from the -52kg weight class to the -57kg category as she had been struggling to make her weight before competitions. "It was unhealthy for me to lose weight before events and my body fat percentage was too low. In addition, it became difficult for me to do long-distance running to lose weight after the [knee] injuries. Therefore, I decided to move to a higher weight class." (sportsroad, 30 Oct 2019)
COMEBACK FROM INJURY
She says the time she has spent off the tatami due to knee injuries renewed her passion for judo. "I am certain that I love this sport now. When I was sidelined by injuries and could only watch others compete, I became even more determined that I didn't want to give up and that I wanted to do better." (sportsroad, 30 Oct 2019)
