SINGLE SCULLS SUCCESS
He considered switching disciplines from double sculls after he won lightweight single sculls gold at the 2021 Asian Championships in Thailand and single sculls gold at the 2022 National Championships in Pune, India. He had been unable to compete in lightweight double sculls at the 2021 Asian Championships as crewmate Arjun Lal had put on weight following the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo and the pair did not make the weight limit. The 2022 National Championships served as trials for the 19th asian games. "For double sculls, we both have to weigh around 70 kilograms but Arjun gained weight during the break [following the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo]. I also wanted to try my hand at single sculls so I took it as a challenge and trained hard in Pune. Gold at the [2022] Asian Games is the goal."
